The Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) presented its Distinctive Service Award to The University of Scranton during its 51st annual conference, which was held in April in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Valarie Clark, director of Printing and Mailing Services, accepted the award on behalf of the University at the conference.

ACUP’s Distinctive Service award is presented annually to an in-plant facility for achieving innovative goals for growth while continuing operational production demands. The award was presented to Scranton for upgrades to facilities and technology in its in-plant copy center.

During the summer of 2015, the University installed new digital printers and finishing equipment and renovated its in-plant facility, staying operational during the installation and renovations. Technology and in-plant enhancements have improved processes and print production.

ACUP, established in 1964, has approximately 250 members from colleges and universities within the in-plant printing and mailing industry throughout the United States. ACUP provides professional development and collaboration opportunities for individuals employed in management at college and university in-plant printing and mailing facilities.
